Shaina Shepherd

Wed, 07/01/2020 - 09:25
Shaina Shepherd

Shaina Shepherd is a singer/songwriter and vocal coach based in Seattle, WA. Known for her pervasive style as front woman to soul- grunge band BEARAXE, her notable vocal stylings have brought her into various creative spaces — from sharing stages with rock stars like Dave Matthews and Thunderpussy to being a soloist with the classical ensembles around the country.
Inspired by Nina Simone's commitment to representing the times with the ivories at her fingers, Shaina Shepherd tells heartfelt stories of love, loss and personal power. She describes herself as an "anthem artist" - translating pivotal moments in human history through her unique form of poetry. Her biggest inspirations are often from poets -- Mark Twain, James Weldoyn Johnson, Maya Angelou. A teacher at heart, Shaina's songs often include a moment of audience interaction or shared moments of reflection in the room. Her dynamic vocal combines the power of theater with the tender introspection of American folk music in a commitment to every song, story and note being real, raw and present.

Champagne Sunday

Mon, 06/29/2020 - 10:50
Champagne Sunday

Endearingly labeled as “Pearl Jam meets Bette Midler”, husband and wife members Jessi and Jared Fredeen have been tearing up stages and crowds nationwide since 2005 with their unique upbeat, roller coaster style shows, firing off gypsy-punk rock songs alongside everything from intimate tear-jerkers to anthemic foot-stompers. With seven albums of original material to their credit, and playing an average of 170 shows a year, Tacoma duo Champagne Sunday is one of the rare original acts in the PNW that performs with stadium-level energy, regardless of whether it's for a festival crowd or a group of coffee shop patrons. This act has a ton of showmanship, heart, and talent that makes for a captivating, powerful experience.

Dirk Quinn Band

Mon, 06/29/2020 - 10:50
Dirk Quinn Band

Dirk Quinn is the guitarist for the jazz/funk band that coincidentally bears his name. Based out of Philadelphia, the group travels extensively throughout the US and Canada. Utilizing over a decade of steady performing, they've developed a unique and sincere style -one that appeals to a wide variety of music listeners with fans ranging from the beard stroking jazz aficionados to the jam band hippies. The band’s infectious energy and musical interplay routinely attract listeners that are admittedly more accustomed to lyric-based music. With great melodic sensibilities, rhythmic experimentation and an accessible modern edge, the Dirk Quinn Band is jazz/funk improvisation at its most engaging!
