2024 Washington Economics Symposium

Description

Western Washington University will host the 2024 Washington Economics Symposium on Tuesday, August 20, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Viking Union. The event features economic and financial literacy speakers and offers 5.5 STEM clock hours for teachers.

 

The symposium addresses the gap in financial and economic education in Washington State, especially after the failure of HB 1915. Participate in workshops and discussions to advance economic and financial literacy.

 

Speakers include Scott Wolla from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Senator Sharon Shewmake, Anneliese Vance-Sherman from the Employment Security Department, and more. There are two speaker tracks: one for K-12 educators, and another for business/government leaders. Registration costs range from $25 to $75, and include meals and a networking reception.
